Alexa PenaVega Opens Up about Helping a Pregnant Teen Considering Abortion

Actress Alexa PenaVega recently appeared on Students for Life’s Speak Out podcast, talking about a time when she was asked to speak to a pregnant teenager considering having an abortion.

PenaVega, of Spy Kids fame, is married to fellow actor and singer Carlos PenaVega. Both are vocal Christians and parents.

PenaVega said a man reached out to her, saying a young woman had first contacted him, asking him for help for her teenage sister who was considering an abortion. When he found out the pregnant teen was a fan of PenaVega, the man asked if PenaVega would consider joining the teen on a Zoom call.

“I was so excited at this possibility, but also, I’ve never had this conversation before — what do you even say to a young girl who’s in this position?” PenaVega said. “I think she was 16 or 17, and she’s just in this position of like, ‘I don’t know what to do.’”

She said she talked to the girl for about an hour and a half. She wasn’t sure what the teenager would decide, but then she found out the teenager decided to keep the baby.

“What’s wild is she decided to keep the baby, and I have a relationship with her,” PenaVega said. “And I get to see this baby on social media. … I see this beautiful little girl, and I start bawling.”

She continued, “I will forever feel connected to her.”

“God has always called my heart, ever since I was little,” PenaVega told CBN’s Faithwire. “I just always felt His presence, and I’ve always felt His peace.”

PenaVega and her husband, Carlos, released a book in June 2022 called, What If Love Is the Point? Living for Jesus in a Self-Consumed World.

“God has always called my heart, ever since I was little,” PenaVega told CBN’s Faithwire. “I just always felt His presence, and I’ve always felt His peace.”
