Jay Wheeler earns his first top 10 on any Billboard albums chart, as his third studio album De Mi Para Ti debuts at No. 3 on the Jan. 29-dated ranking.

De Mi Para Ti (EP) starts with 4,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Nov. 20, according to MRC Data. The set was released Jan. 12 via Linked Music/Dynamic/EMPIRE. Most of the eight-track set’s opening sum stems from streaming activity.

De Mi generated 5.4 million on-demand plays of the album’s songs.

The Latin Pop Albums chart ranks the most popular Latin pop albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by MRC Data. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.

De Mi gives the Puerto Rican artist his first visit to Latin Pop Albums and first top 10 on any albums chart. He came close to the top 10 on Latin Rhythm Albums previously when his sophomore album Platónicos peaked at No. 12 (Jan. 2021) where his latest EP also debuts at No. 12 on the chart.

Elsewhere, De Mi arrives at No. 16 on the overall Top Latin Albums ranking, where it becomes Wheeler’s second top 20, after Platónicos peaked at No. 16 in Jan. 2021.

The bilingual set was preceded by three tracks on Hot Latin Songs, including the No. 5-peaked “La Curiosidad,” with DJ Nelson and Myke Towers; Wheeler’s first and only top 10 there (January 2021). The other two tracks hit top 30 on the all-metric survey (which blends airplay digital sales, streams), but snatched a one-week lead on Latin Rhythm Airplay: “Viendo El Techo” (August 7, 2021-dated list) and “Dos Tragos” (chart dated Dec. 24, 2021).
