Presidential Limit At The Verge Of being Plucked Out, MPS Concede.

After a long debate on whether to remove presidential age limit or not, today over 245 ruling party MPS lead by Kumi Woman MP Monica Amonding have agreed to table a private member bill in Parliament seeking to Amend Article 102(b) of the 1995 constitution. This took place during the NRM party cause consultative meeting held today at Parliament conference hall.

The constitution of Uganda article 102(b) allows a person of 35 to stand for presidency and a person of 75   years not to hold any Presidential office. Much as many people especially opposition members have tried to hinder the move about this the government has always remained cagey about this. Of recent the president came out and neglected allegations of any plans to tamper with the article.
