The Minnesota Vikings are keeping Ameer Abdullah in their group of running backs, as the team officially re-signed him Wednesday.

Abdullah, a second-round pick by Detroit in 2015, has spent the last three seasons with Minnesota. The 27-year-old gained 313 total yards and three touchdowns on 55 touches (31 rushes, 24 receptions) for the Vikings from 2018-20).

Abdullah also has served as the Vikings primary kickoff returner. In the last three seasons, Abdullah averaged 24.6 yards per attempt. His longest return in a Vikings uniform went for 38 yards in 2019.

The Nebraska product rejoins Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison in Minnesota’s running backs room.
