The 2021-22 women’s college basketball season has arrived. Fans are back in arenas, teams are expected to play full schedules and the NCAA tournament returns to 16 higher seed home courts for the early rounds, four regional sites and a Final Four in Minneapolis. A vote later this month will determine whether the women’s tournament expands to 68 teams. Whether it’s 64 or 68, our bracket projections will take you right into Selection Monday.

Bracket Watch

The only movement since October’s bracket update comes via injury news in the ACC. Georgia Tech’s Kierra Fletcher, a four-year starting guard, will miss the season (foot surgery). She was the team’s second-leading scorer and a key figure in an offense that already ranked just 13th in the ACC in points per game. Georgia Tech drops a seed line, to a No. 6, and is replaced on the No. 5 line by fellow ACC team Virginia Tech.
