Small-Group Activities Grow Popular Amid Pandemic
Small-scale private lessons are growing in popularity as a safe leisure option amid the protracted coronavirus pandemic.
Bored with lockdown but fearful of contracting the virus, an increasing number of people are rousing themselves to take up small-group activities.
Fitness and sports activities such as tennis, golf and Pilates lessons, which are often offered in small-group settings or one-on-one classes, have become popular these days, making bookings increasingly difficult.
One apartment complex in Seoul has seen four Pilates studios open since March of last year. A staffer there said, “Residents of the apartment and those living nearby are lining up for classes and many have to wait months to get in.”
