The Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir confirmed his strong opposition to the prisoner exchange deal with Hamas, warning that it would bring disaster to Israel.

“The expected exchange deal with Hamas will bring us disaster, and rumors say that Israel will once again make a very big mistake, as happened in the Shalit deal,” he said.

The Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) party, led by Gvir, announced its opposition to a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas according to the formula circulating in the corridors of the Israeli government, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation added on Tuesday that the Jewish Power Party and the Religious Zionism Party, led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich also opposed the deal, stating: It should not be agreed upon, and all the kidnapped must be released.”
