It has been revealed that the Duke of Sussexes’ memoir, Spare, which first hit shelves in January 2023, will be re-released and available in shops within two months in a paperback version.
An additional key move, however, shows tensions are still rife between Prince Harry and the Royal Family – the fact he is keeping quiet about its re-release, and not opening the book with a “different prologue” or highlighting any “regret”.
Royal expert and historian, Tessa Dunlop, told the Mirror: “Those who suggest that this paperback release, with no additional material, is an olive branch, are sadly mistaken. New material can be conciliatory, Harry might have taken the lead and opened with a different prologue, fore-fronting his regret about how things turned out, and reiterating his good wishes for Kate and the King.
Tessa added: “That he has decided to stay shtum is indicative of the cold war which persists within the Royal Family. On the eve of his 40th birthday, there is little sign of a reconciliation.”
The explosive memoir sent shockwaves around the world with the first release, as it highlighted tensions between Prince Harry and Queen Camilla, and claims from Harry about Prince William fighting and pushing him into a dog bowl.
It is common for a paperback version of a non-fiction book to have updated information, but it is understood the contents of the paperback version remain “unchanged”.

Duchess Sophie’s very unusual wedding necklace that Prince Edward designed himself
Duchess Sophie, who always sets the fashion scene, married Prince Edward in 1999 and donned a Samantha Shaw coat-style wedding dress with over 325,000 pearls and crystal beads.
But the Duchess of Edinburgh also wore one unusual item that was designed by her husband Prince Edward as a sentimental gift to his wife.
The Duke of Edinburgh chose to incorporate pearls into the jewellery which is a meaningful addition, given they are favoured by many other royals.
The necklace also paid homage to the extravagant ring Prince Edward had bought for Sophie, as it was made by the same jewellers.

Expert spots key signs Prince Harry ‘lost control’ when topic shifted during TV interview
Prince Harry’s best-selling memoir Spare is coming out in paperback in October, less than two years after the book was first released.
In the run-up to the publication of the tell-all memoir in early 2023, Prince Harry drummed up publicity and took part in a few interviews. In mid-January 2023, he made his debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where they discussed his life and whether the prince watches The Crown.
The Duke of Sussex replied that he does in fact watch the Netflix hit, which follows the Royal Family up until the wedding of the now King and Queen. Harry even admitted to fact-checking elements of the programme, which released last year its final season detailing Diana’s tragic death.
While he started off the chat “relaxed”, Harry “lost control” after this question, according to body language expert Judi James.

Prince Andrew heading for huge clash as King Charles ‘set to hand Royal Lodge to Camilla’
King Charles is reportedly trying to evict Prince Andrew from Royal Lodge and give it as a gift to Queen Camilla, as the royal brothers’ battle over the property continues.
According to royal commentator Kinsey Schofield, the Duke of York could be kicked out by the end of the year, especially as Charles has taken away his security detail.
Speaking on TalkTV, she said: “The King is thinking long term and might want this property that he spent so much time with the Queen Mother in to leave for Queen Camilla, in case the worst happens.

Queen Elizabeth’s stunning £207k engagement ring with tribute to Prince Philip’s mum
Queen Elizabeth II had several exquisite and expensive jewels but one of the most sentimental came in the form of her engagement ring, gifted to her by her husband Prince Phillip.
The late Queen’s engagement ring from Prince Philip has a special story, as the diamonds used to create the ring came from a tiara belonging to his mother – Princess Alice of Battenberg.
The late Prince Philip designed the square-cut diamond engagement ring with jewellers Philip Antrobus Ltd. An expert believes the ring could be worth more than £200,000.
