Teen raped at beach house

Police are searching for a 20-year-old man who raped a teenager at a beach house in Guayaguayare over the weekend.

The suspect, of Newlands Village in Guayaguayare, has been on the run since the incident, police were told.

The victim, an 18-year-old woman, was accompanied by her mother when she reported the incident to the Mayaro police station on Monday.

The victim reported that on Saturday she was at a beach house with a group of friends in Guayaguayare.

She said she was on the beach with her friends when around 1.45 p.m. she returned to the house to change her clothing.

She reported that went to a bedroom in the house and the suspect, who is known to her, followed her into the room.

The teenager reported that the suspect forced himself on her and raped her, then exited the house.

The victim later told her mother of the incident and around 1 p.m. on Monday, the victim and her mother went to the Mayaro police and filed a report.

WPC Francis interviewed the victim and the Victim and Witness Support Unit was contacted.

WPC Francis is continuing investigations.
