American charged arising from fatal crash at Font Hill, St. Elizabeth

The United States resident who was charged in relation to last Friday’s fatal crash along the Font Hill main road in St Elizabeth was on Monday offered bail when he appeared in court. 

Caleb Davis is facing the charge of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was offered bail in the sum of J$300,000 with surety and is scheduled to return to court on November 23.

As a condition of his bail he is to reside in Kingston and report to the Matilda’s Corner police.

He was also ordered to surrender his travel documents and a stop order was placed at the ports of exit.

Daniellie Blake, a 31 year-old teacher at Savanna-la-mar Primary Primary, school died in the crash.

It’s reported that about eleven o’clock, Mrs Blake was among passengers in a Toyota Wish travelling from Black River to White House when the vehicle collided head on with a truck with two visitors aboard.

The police say the American, who was driving the truck, failed to keep left and crashed into the loaded taxi cab.
