Baramunda bus stand in Bhubaneswar

The Baramunda Bus terminal in Bhubaneswar will be named after Dr BR Ambedkar, the father of the Constitution of India. This was informed by the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday.

As per the decision, a special gallery will be constructed on a 900 sq/ft area on the terminal premises. It will be dedicated to Dr BR Ambedkar. The life and ideals of the great man will be displayed through digital technology.    

As per reports, the bus terminal built on 15.5 acres of land will facilitate transportation of 30,000 passengers on a daily basis. Besides, multiple amenities and security aspects will be given importance. 

Transport Minister Tukuni Sahoo said, “Baramunda bus stand has been named after Dr BR Ambedkar. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik always wanted to name bus stands after the great men who have immensely contributed to nation-building.”
