HVT, P300,000 ‘shabu’ seized in anti-drug operation

LAWMEN have arrested one person and seized illegal drugs worth P306,000 in an anti-drug operation in the province of Lanao del Sur, a police official said Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
However, Police Colonel Robert Daculan, director of the Lanao del Sur police, did not identify the arrested individual, except to say the suspect is classified as a high-value target (HVT) in the campaign against illegal drugs in the province.
Daculan said the HVT suspect was arrested in a buy-bust around 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10, in East Basak village, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
Daculan said that seized from the arrested HVT suspect were approximately 45 grams of substance believed to be shabu packed in nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, worth P306,000, along with buy-bust money, a sports utility vehicle (SUV), and a digital pocket scale.
He said the arrested suspect and the confiscated evidence were placed under the custody of the Marawi City Police Station for documentation and the preparation of appropriate charges against him.
He added that the buy-bust was launched after several days of surveillance on the HVT suspect’s activities related to the sale of illegal drugs. (SunStar Zamboanga)
