KCCA Receives 1,001 House Number Plates to Enhance Resident Identification
Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) has initiated a house numbering program to enhance urban planning and service delivery. Residents will be required to pay a one-time fee ranging between UGX 50,000 and UGX 100,000 for the installation of house number plates. The exercise is scheduled to commence in the coming month.

The Deputy Executive Director of KCCA, Benon Kigenyi, emphasized that this initiative will significantly aid in accurately locating residents, thereby improving tax collection and service provision. The house number plates will serve as a crucial tool in confirming the locations of residents who pay taxes, facilitating better planning and resource allocation within the city.
This development follows a recent donation of 1,001 house number plates to KCCA, aimed at supporting the authority’s efforts in systematic urban management. The donated plates will be distributed across various homes in Kampala as part of the initial phase of the program.
The initiative is expected to streamline urban planning, emergency response, and revenue collection, as authorities will have verified locations of registered residents. KCCA continues to implement measures to enhance city management and improve public services.
Residents are encouraged to cooperate with KCCA officials during the implementation of this exercise to ensure its success and contribute to the overall improvement of city management and service delivery.
