Suspended Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe will know shortly after 09:00 on Wednesday whether the vote that could remove him will take place.

The historic vote is scheduled a mere seven hours later in the National Assembly.

Either Hlophe or retired judge Nkola Motata could become the first judge to be removed in South Africa.
