Windsor welcomes Benjamin Skye as first baby of 2024

Windsor Regional Hospital’s first baby of 2024 had everyone waiting in suspense.
Benjamin Skye Rollins entered the world at 9:49 a.m. on Monday, much later in the day than the hospital usually welcomes its New Year’s baby.

Weighing in at six pounds, six ounces, Benjamin is the second child of parents Jacqueline and Kyle, who have a two-year-old son.
According to the hospital, the couple had settled in to watch a movie on New Year’s Eve when Jacqueline began to have contractions.

When morning rolled around, the couple decided to head to the hospital. Benjamin was born not long after they arrived at Windsor Regional.
“It was a fast labour. The baby came almost right away,” Jacqueline told the hospital, which shared the story in a news release Monday afternoon.
“I can’t say enough about the staff and nurses here at Windsor Regional Hospital,” she said. “We were impressed when our first child was born as well and this time was no different. Everyone is so helpful.”
The hospital congratulated Jacqueline and Kyle on the birth of their beautiful baby boy.
