Hospitals ICU’s overflowing, medical staff working long tedious hours, wearing masks and disposable garments, seeing patients suffer from coronavirus attacking their bodies.

Too many ended up on respirators and sadly more than 26,000 Canadians have lost the fight against this devastating virus.
Provinces initiated lockdowns, giving restrictions related to wearing masks or contact with other people, while businesses suffered closures and restrictions that offered them little chance for profit.
Thankfully vaccines to combat COVID-19 were quickly developed by Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and Astra-Zeneca. They have virtually saved the day.
Canada quickly purchased and vaccinated their citizens, attempting to reach herd immunity while potentially slowing any virus mutations.
Canada continues to be a world leader in vaccination rates with over 80 per cent of eligible people vaccinated with their first dose and approximately 64 per cent fully vaccinated.

Sad to say, the Delta variant has taken hold of our neighbour in the U.S. with only roughly half of its citizens fully vaccinated — perhaps due to anti-vaccination rhetoric from certain news and social media outlets.
I believe Ontario needs to not only ask, but demand anti-vaccinators get on the vaccination bandwagon. If not for themselves, then for their families and friends.
Canada needs to reach herd immunity to help avoid a return to harsh restrictions and potential shutdowns due to the Delta variant. Our businesses and Canadian citizens have suffered long enough.
