Museveni Blames Police For Being Slow On Abiriga’s Assassination.
The president of Uganda His excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has in his speech dated 10th June 2018 blamed the police in Kawanda for their slow response on Abiriga’s case.
Museveni says with a total of 14 personnel at Kawanda trading center, they were capable of closing off all exit points in the area so as to zero down to the criminals.
“I must also comment on the slow response of the police in the Kawanda area. There are 14 police personnel at Kawanda Trading Centre operating in squads. If they were ready and on stand-by, they could have rushed and blocked the few exit points from that area for the criminals.” he said
The president therefore advised the police stations in other areas to study the strategy and always have squads to close off exit points of an area fast in case of criminality.
Rt. Col. Ibrahim Abiriga and his brother who doubled as his body guard were allegedly shot dead on friday evening by unknown assailants who were travelling on a boda boda.
Abiriga will be laid to rest on Monday in Arua after a vigil slated for today Sunday 10th June 2018 in Arua.
